What is a cohort?

Cohorts are the bedrock of Atmolytics. They are groups of patients which are created by filtering the full list of patients available to you, using criteria specified by you, the user.

You can then create reports about these cohorts using the Atmolytics Apps.

Every cohort you create is a subset of your base cohort.

Base Cohorts

Your base cohort is a group which contains all the patients (and their data) made available to you as an Atmolytics user. The number of patients in your base cohort is displayed towards the top of the Home area:

Your system administrator will have created your base cohort by selecting the patients whose data you are permitted to access. This base cohort will be assigned to you as part of your role.

Any cohorts you create yourself will only include patients who are also included in your base cohort. If you share any information with other users, they will only be able to see the information you share which relates to the patients who are also in their own base cohort (they must also have permission to access the type of patient data you are sharing).

Nobody can view, report on, or share any data belonging to any patient who is not included in their own base cohort of patients. This is one of the ways in which Atmolytics protects sensitive data.
