Sex and Gender Data Items

In order to allow accurate data to be captured for a Service User, an additional data item has been created on the registration screen. This means that both a Service User’s sex and gender can be inputted.

To ensure data integrity, the previous ‘gender’ field has been renamed to ‘sex’. The dropdowns for this as standard were ‘male’, ‘female’ and ‘other’, which described a persons ‘sex’ better than their ‘gender’. To remedy this, we had included a new data item for ‘gender’.

Both ‘sex’ and ‘gender’ data items are powered by configurable dropdown lists within the Admin tools.

PAS system, letter templates, PDF print and other bespoke development has been updated to reflect the data required.
